The High Point swimmers in each age group, male and female are recognized, as well as an Overall High Point. Most Improved Swimmer Awards are given as deemed by the coaches. Outstanding dedication, sportsmanship and team spirit are acknowledged with the dedicated swimmer awards, the Paul Phillips Sportsmanship award and the team spirit award. The Coaches award is given to the swimmer who beyond others has given the most Heart to the team. The graduating seniors are thanked for all their years of swimming and contributions to the team with a traditional pewter mug.

For the dive team, the highlight of the evening is the "Paper Plate Awards." There is also the coach's award for one boy and for one girl, and most improved award for one boy and for one girl. All divers receive a trophy for individual participation.

The night ends with the famous slide show. It truly is a night not to be missed. Be there, or be square!

There was some fast swimming in the A Relay carnival on Sunday, too. Congratulations to the following relay teams who won first place in the division at the A Relay Carnival: the 11-12 mixed freestyle (Hannah Lutz, Steven Goldberg, Audrey Gould, Odin Soevik) and the Boys 14 & under graduated free (Njord Soevik, Odin Soevik, Serge Gould, Brian Slawta). Great swimming, everyone!

We have included the swim practice plan for the week of July 2-6. Please try to come to as many practices as possible in order to make up for lost pool time! There will be a few special guest teenagers to come help with stroke work this week!

Red, White & Blue Breakfast

No B Meet on Wednesday but Please Read
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
There is no B Meet on Wednesday due to the July 4 holiday. But if you have a child who swims in B Meets, please read on for important information.
Running a swim meet takes a lot of manpower. Please note that we have not had enough parent participation this year in the B Meets, making the meets more hectic than necessary. There are many jobs to staff each meet, including timers, ribbon writers and clerk of course. Every swimmer is expected to have one parent to assist in the meet, or they will not be allowed to swim.
Also, please do not drop off your child at a meet! If you are not able to stay with your swimmer or diver, you must make arrangements with another parent to chaperone your child.
With everyone helping out, the B Meets will go more smoothly -- and more quickly!
15-18 Dinner at Maggiano's Thursday, July 5 at 8pm
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The 15-18s will meet for dinner at Maggiano's at Friendship Heights on Thursday, July 5 at 8:00 pm. Please RSVP to Claire so she can get a head count. Divers welcome too!

Pep Rally Friday, July 6 at 5:00 - 8 & under families bring food
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
This coming Friday, July 6, we will have our usual pep rally and team dinner after practice at 5 PM. This week's dinner is sponsored by the parents of 8 & unders. This Friday's theme is 60's dress up, and the activity is tie dying! Bring a white shirt to make your own tie dyed souvenir.
A Meet on Saturday, July 7 at home vs. Westleigh
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Our next A Meet will be home vs. Westleigh on Saturday, July 7. All swimmers should arrive for 8:00 warm-ups.

I'll warn you before we get started -- this email is long. We have a lot of important information for the team, and we don't have easy access to our bulletin boards this week. Please bear with us until we're back to our regular routines.

New Practice Schedule This Week
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Great news! All Star Aquatics has offered us the use of their pool in the mornings this week while our pool is under repair.
We have the following times: Wednesday/Thursday/Friday morning from 7:00- 8:30am at Stoneridge School
We have 3-4 lanes on Wed and Fri and 2-3 lanes on Thurs.
Please call or email Claire ( 240-498-8580) (ClaireW820@yahoo.com) to let her know which practices your child can attend. It is important that we get a head count for each day.
Stoneridge School is located at the corner of Rt. 355 and Cedar Lane near Bethesda Naval Hospital.
A Relay Carnival Line Up - Need Confirmation by Wednesday
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The A Relay Carnival is scheduled for Sunday, July 1 at Cedarbrook Pool. The lineup is at the end of this email. Let Claire or Erik know no later than Wednesday June 27 if you will not be able to attend the relay carnival . Be at the relay carnival on Sunday at 7:40am, ready to warmup.

"Home" B Meet on Wednesday June 27 at Rockshire at 5:00
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
We'll be "hosting" our B Meet at Rockshire Pool on Wednesday, June 27. Warm ups start at 5:00 (early since we are the home team) and the meet starts at 6:00. Since we are the home team, we are responsible for staffing the meet, including timers, officials, ribbon writers, etc. so please contact Audrey King (301)320- 5710 to sign up. Please return any watches that you might have found since the last meet.
Also since we are the home team, we are responsible for staffing and bringing food for the snack bar. Anyone who is swimming in the meet should bring food for the snack bar. Please contact Cindy Flores at (301)655-1774 to let her know what food you can bring.
Please e-mail Claire or Erik to sign up for the B meet. Because we are short on pool time this week, A- swimmers are welcome to come to the B Meet to warm-up and swim their events in an exhibition (no ribbon) heat.
Directions to Rockshire
Pep Rally Friday, June 29 at 5:00 - Patriotic Theme
As the pool will be closed for a couple of days for repairs, we thought it would be a good idea for the meal sign up to start via e- mail. Please contact Mary Joaquin at mjoaquin@bellatlantic.net or (202)363- 4524. Thanks so much for your help. The children really enjoy these events and they add so much to the community spirit at Seven Locks.
note: pasta dishes can be the usual ziti type fare or things like mac and cheese, pasta and pesto etc. Nothing too fancy!
2 people for green salads with a dressing to add
3 people for chocolate chip cookies or brownies (24)
3 people to bring rolls - the ones brought last week were a big hit - does anyone know what they were? I never saw them!
