2011 Head Coach: Kevin Vallario

To all swimmers and parents of Seven Locks Swim Team, some of you may not know who I am but you will shortly. My name is Kevin Vallario, I will be your new Head Coach for the upcoming 2011 summer season and I can not be happier or more ecstatic about it. Some people may ask "What qualifies him to be our Head Coach?" and that is a good question.

I started swimming when I was eight years old, I was the kid who needed a person by my side 24/7 in the water (no lie I drowned almost a few times), I did not even want to put my face in. One day though it just clicked with a great coach coaching me. I have been around the sport of swimming since those dark days of drowning and now I am remembered as one of the fastest sprinters to come out of the Potomac Valley Swimming area. I have swam in pretty much every meet imaginable in MCSL, PVS, and USA Swimming. My biggest accomplishments is making it to Nationals and being recruited by Div I North Carolina State University on scholarship. My background of swimming is very technical and mechanic based since I am only 5'10 I had to find a way to beat the 6'3 giants. I now assistant coach for Flying Gull Aquatic Club in Laurel, Prince George's County. I am looking forward to a great/FUN!!!! season and raising the Sharks to dominate the waters!

Kevin

2011 Assistant Coach: Milly Huizinga

Hello Seven Locks Sharks!

Most of you know me by now, but I am Milly Huizinga and I will be coaching again this year. I started coaching when I was 11 years old, helping out with the pre-team and now at 18, I am the Head Coach of the Pre-Team and the Assistant Coach of the Swim Team. I love working with kids and have been doing so since a very young age - I come from a family of four kids! I have also worked at Bethesda Community School (where I attended) since the age of 11. I swam year round until my sophomore year of high school, when I decided I wanted to explore other sports and since have become involved in Water Polo and Crew. But, I am still an avid swimmer during the winters for my high school, Holton-Arms, and was the captain this past year. I love getting involved at the pool during the summers because it is where I have grown up!!!! I hope that your kids have as much fun as I did on this team and that we have a great season! Please feel free to contact me with any questions regarding Pre-Team or Swim Team!

Thanks,
Milly
